Community engagement is the process of collaborating with and across groups of people who are linked by geography, shared interests, or common circumstances to discuss problems that affect their well-being. It’s a powerful tool for enacting environmental and behavioral improvements that will support the community’s and members’ wellbeing.

Communities should promote education on a deep and substantive level in a variety of ways. However, bear in mind that not everyone in the group is aware of how they can help. When a school system creates a list of straightforward, concrete requests, or when education leadership is able to collaborate with the business sector in ways that promote deeper involvement, the community often responds positively. In the end, it is the students that gain.

According to research, an authentically active community strengthens schools by engaging in school activities as well as helping to shape change. Ultimately, community engagement is a tool that encourages civic participation and builds schools, families, and communities’ capacity to support young people’s full growth.
